‘Us’

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our Likeness.” (Genesis 1:26) It is eye opening how full scripture is of the Trinity. A few years ago I had a hard discussion with some Jehovah witnesses. As they don’t believe in the Trinity and they would like to win me over. I had to do my homework and was amazed in how many Bible text’s the God as 3 is used. Already in the beginning of the Bible it starts with the Trinity; For in the beginning their only was God, though He states ‘Us’ and ‘Our’, which points us to more then 1. And if God is not 1, one of them should have made the other 2. Even the Spirit was hovering the waters when the earth was still formless and empty.(Genesis 1:2)

John 1:1 tells us that; In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. And John 10:30; ‘I and the Father are One.’ Galatians 3:20 tells us about Jesus as a Mediator, to stand for us in our sin; ‘A mediator, however, does not represent just one party; but God is one.’ So Jesus is our Mediator and God at the same. God is the Father (Mathew 23:9) God is the Son (Mathew 1:23) and God is the Holy Spirit (Mathew 10:20).

There is only One God. God is only One being and He is also Triune in His being; For only God can save us in new creation; God Himself will judge, and only through Jesus you can get to the Father, He has saved us in Himself through the Son and Spirit.

Jesus is also called many names; Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) Jesus our Saviour like no other can ever be. A nice conformation is found in Isaiah 43:10,11; “You are my witnesses”, declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe Me and understand that I am He. Before Me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I even I, am the Lord, and apart from Me there is no Saviour.

Another nice verse; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; ‘There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.’

How are we then, the heirs; children of God? Romans 8:16,17; ‘The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children of God, then we are heirs – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share His glory.’

John 15:26; ‘When the Counsellor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, He will testify about Me.’ Galatians 4:6; ‘Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out “Abba, Father”.

Now in this discussion with the Jehovah witnesses, I was told Jesus is an arch-angel and that angels already existed upon creation, which they based on Proverbs 8 verse 27 and on. They also gave me the text of Mathew 28:18-20. But when reading it, it only clarifies that in verse 19 we are baptised in the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit; 3 Persons. But One; 1 Corinthians 8:6; ‘Yet for us there is one God, the Father of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and whom we live.’ See that in the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ are both all things?

Titus 3:4,5: ‘But when the kindness and the love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.’ So how can Jesus be an angel, when He is God our Saviour? And how did the Spirit of God in the form of a dove, fall upon Jesus? How can God be with us when His Spirit dwells in us?

Because God said; ‘Let Us…’

‘D-anger’

These day’s it seems like a normal thing to curse on anything or anyone around us. However, that is a dangerous state, since we are speaking about God’s creation. By doing so it’s forsaking and saying His work is not worthy of! Could you imagine standing in front of the Face of God and explaining to Him why we did not like certain things? We are so spoiled and a lot of times take it for granted. It hurts to hear someone curse and it even hurts more if your the one that’s being cursed. Is it normal for children to hear these things?! They also will do the same thing… Media is full of it, like it’s the most normal thing. Do you honour your father and your mother? Or do you curse on them… Your day’s will be longer if you’d honour them! That’s a very powerful commitment and so often overlooked. Cursing by words is hard to except, but facial expressions only are no understatement. Our eyes can speak a million words. They can sparkle or look dull and when you pull up your eyebrow, it’s like you don’t care. But why no care? Because you think your better? How often aren’t we comparing ourselves to others only to think of being better. Proud and greedy. But happy? When was the last time you were really happy? Count your blessings! And if your eyebrow is going up now, well what does that mean? Be careful with your wishes, He will provide in His time, through thick and thin.

But where does this anger, this curse-full lifestyle come from?  We need to seek it’s source and when found we need to release it and let go. Stepping out of that care and drive a positive one. The trust and care to be left in God’s hands, to have Him take the wheel. Pray for those who make it difficult for you and ask for strength to see the good things. Be like the wise man; ‘The fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back’ (proverbs 29:11) When you voice out all your feelings while being angry, you are out of control of your actions and cursing is so easy to do then. Anger is so close to danger… Be self-controlled, let that irritation roll off and move on! Hold back, be still and know… Know that He is God…

‘Shining Lights’

IMG_3961 - Copy

As a light switch; ‘Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw the light , that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day. (Genesis 1:3-5) It’s the first thing God made. It’s the most important thing to growth. The earth needs light to produce, we need light to see and being able to do things. But we also need Spiritual Light. This light as in the famous; ‘Light at the end of the tunnel’. That tunnel’s light is so bright, it’s the brightness of purity and grace! It’s God Himself glowing this bright Broadway! ‘That God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.’ (1 John 1:5-7) Light will expose lot’s of things, also the bad, but isn’t it wonderful Jesus covered them by His blood?

I like the Christmas lights at Christmas. It reminds me of the shining lights we are in Jesus! We are all together on this string, but if one is broken the rest go’s out too… Clearly we are stronger together. We can help each other in being these shining lights. ‘Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.’ (Isaiah 60:1) We need to stand up, walk the curves and follow that bright Light. Like following the star leading the three Wise-man to Jesus. Switching back and forth in our daily routines and finding the balance in following that light. For that we need to switch our Light on! ‘The sun shall no longer be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; but the Lord will be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory.(Isaiah 60:19) ‘The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.'(Numbers 6:24-26) Peace to you my friends in these times we remember the birth of our Savior!

‘Feeling Lost’

Have you ever sit down for a bit in a shopping mall or grocery store, just watching people? Isn’t it like a fast forwarded movie where you feel like being paused in? Who, of all these people are actually still laughing… Aren’t we all missing out in the joy of hope? Because we all have our troubles and circumstances. Behind closed doors, you don’t know what’s going on…

Maybe you’ve not yet chosen, which road to take. The wide, the narrow or you skip back and forth. We all feel lost at some point. You may feel like being ignored, neglected, or looked down at. Or perhaps you know people gossip about you, your so called ‘friends’. Maybe the fast phase life is running ahead of you and you can’t keep up anymore… Your life is not doing what you wanted it to look like. The strive to run a well recognized business keeping you stressed? Maybe your foolish choices got you in jail and even when your physical out, within you’re still in it. Your surroundings may not make you capable of the choices you want to make. Don’t we all often take roads others want us to take? Because, oh, what if I don’t look good and people will talk of me? People will always talk, if you do well or if you don’t. They might even do it straight to your face. One look or glaze says it all… Though what that one moment of pre-justice can do or destroy will influence the choices that we make. It may make us afraid, jealous or give us a proud feeling, the higher up kind. Or what if your homeless, to old or feeling to ugly…

Feeling lost is losing hope. Being lost makes you feel alone and when you are alone, you are most vulnerable. This is when Satan attacks…! You are in a very dangerous state. How he loves to see you destroyed and vulnerable; the more we give in the more he’ll take advantage… but wait! Don’t let him take the wheel, he’ll drive you on roads where you don’t want to be on, further and further. At some point you might going to like it, though doesn’t that deep inside voice tell you; get off, take the bus back?! Remember Jesus kept looking for that one lost sheep. That sheep could be you!! You think, well, I don’t fit in that fancy ‘save-haven’ church bench! I’ve done so wrong, I don’t fit with those people! But Jesus died for sinners, a faithful church go’er may look all fine and dandy to you; but he also is a sinner. We all are! We don’t have to measure up our sins to one another, we don’t have to judge each other. Why would we keep being busy with what someone else is doing or not doing? Aren’t we all going to stand before the Big Judge one day? Only His judgement counts. Then, don’t worry how someone else is making you feel being pushed in a corner. Endure the tests, show your faith by being un-fearful; He’ll stand right beside you! Be patient, most people who make you feel uncomfortable have big problems themselves, so it’s easier for them to bully someone else, it will take the attention away from them otherwise they’ll be in that corner… Pray for those people, for you are not the only one in need of help. How easy it is to point out bad things about others, just to cover up your own.

Have you ever found yourself standing with your hands in your hair, thinking; ‘What am I doing it all for?!’ Your kids are not listening, your house is a disaster, your behind a week in laundry, the folded cloths in the basket from the week before are almost all taken out already before they’ve bin put in the closet. You so need to get grocery’s and your behind in accounting, employee’s come and go; even when you did everything to make them happy. Your husband seems to live in his own world and you can’t seem to get over your weak immune system. When the day is over and you are so tired and full of anxiety, trying to mentally prepare how to start tomorrows day positive. But you can’t seem to fall asleep because your head is full of problems your trying to give a spot. It is this time you need to call out for help, help from God… But you don’t… being stuck in your downhill spiral, you don’t give Him the chance to help you… I don’t think I’m the only one that had this problem… From the outside it may look fine, though from the inside your screaming; it’s eating you alive!

It takes a lot to give up self-serve. The patience God has with us through these tests can also build up our patience. Though it can be two different types of patience. God holds back and waits for our call for help, while we hold back and ask for help… This waiting game can be quite draining… Now there are times we do ask for His help, but don’t get it. At least, that’s what it seems like. When we ask for help, we want it all and probably right away. Though God’s way’s provide us with positive patience, that’s building over time. He has a way of getting us through things in His own phase, preparing us for things yet unknown. Remember, God doesn’t let things happen to us more then we can carry… And doesn’t Jesus tell us; ‘Come to Me, all you who are heavy laden’? Well then, with Jesus leading your heavy life-filled heart, you will get through, no matter what! He already did carry our burdens, walking the curved roads, carrying a wooden cross UP a hill and giving, freely giving His sinless life, for us… How heavy that had bin! Then what are we complaining about?!

You will be thankful for choosing that curve of life. And appreciate the different points of view. That there are also times your kids do listen, that your house doesn’t always needs to be tidy and need. That at least your cloths got washed. That there still is food on the table. That the bills get paid and that you also have good employee’s who don’t let you down. That you’d thought that your husband seemed to live his own life, only because you’d put him there… That your immune system can be better only by thinking positive already. Now these are a lot of curves where I’ve learned from, since this road might still be narrow, it could have bin one without all the curves… the narrow road to Christ, our hope can be straight, it’s the choices we make that bend it!!

‘Called with Love’

‘Hello, hello, anyone there?!!’ Do you ever feel like anyone is actually really listening? Picking up that so needed conversation in a positive attitude, to only get you out of that dark place. That love that helps you be needed again without so many negative impacts…

As Christians we are bought with the most precious amount of Love, this price cannot be paid by or through anyone else. Jesus, carried by a young woman, would she have known at that time by singing happy songs to Him, but also having the concerns we also have for our children growing up. Did she know the sleeping child she was holding is the Great I Am? We are all giving this precious amount of love to our children, can you imagine God’s love as a Father to give up, His Son, and as overwhelming as it may seem to us, caring for all of us, His children?! How big! The more you think about it, the larger it becomes… ‘Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!’ (1John 3:1)

‘As we are peddling the word of God’ (2 Corr. 2:17) ‘We are talking and living the sight of God in Christ’ ; While writing this I can just feel the closeness of Him near me. The battle’s I’ve (we’ve) bin going through over the last year have been so big. I even ignored His closeness and I wonder if that made it worse, thinking I didn’t even need Him. Isn’t that so for so many?! So why then is it that we go through these phases? Why is He letting us? Because we still have our own choices to make. Our whole lives are full of choices; think about the things you have to pick from through one day only already. But if those things only stack up negative, the end sight is so far, that road we started to pick is going so far from the big path, it is dark and lonely. Very lonely. As I have bin there I cannot even begin to imagine how Jesus felt so lost by ALL humanity AND His Father that hour… Like the spear in His side, it didn’t go through His heart, but all of it mentally must have felt that way.

The trust we so need in Christ, the kind of trust He has for us; ‘Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God’ (2 Corr. 3:5) I, we know we must run this life through choices we make, but are these choices made in Christ or without Him in it. This statement is so powerful, it will impact so many consequences.

‘Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.’ (Prov. 12:25)  Our thinking, our head needs to think healthy… Our emotions will get out of hand if depression creeps in. This mental health problem is going hand in hand with good and wrong. When choosing the wrong, not always knowing doing so, this path is so astray that your whole life will have such an impact not only on you but also others. Facing this is so hard, because you need a good wake up call. The call of Love. Love is through positive surroundings. This is what is needed. Knowing, feeling that you are loved and not only for your doings, but just for the way you are. Not looking at the things that happened or sins done. Forgiveness is a very big thing to get off this bad path.

When feeling anxiety it is like all your veins in your body that connect to your heart, pump different, the blood going through it goes everywhere but it feels like it leaves out the good places. Mainly the positive attitude. When negative stacks up you have to be careful to keep up the positive. Love through encouragement is what is so needed in everything, the grace of Jesus, but also others around you. What are the things that actually really matter in this life, are these included in this negative thinking? Our marriage, children, family, God?! Usually they are far to find in anxiety, at least they were for me. Don’t let our lives take over the outside of the inner us, don’t let daily life eat up your most precious matters in life. Better is yet to come, He is preparing it for us!

‘Therefore we do not lose heart. Even through our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.’ (2 Corr. 4: 16,17) God knows our doings, our choices, with our without Him included. He let’s us discover how much we need His grace and He forgives us for it. Only because Jesus is so mentally strong, He won it for us! His mercy, His mercy through grace is the price of love!!

‘Curves of Hope’

Why Curves of Hope? 2 years after writing a God centered article, I’ve bin strongly discouraged that this was not my thing to do… After I would say a dark time of my life, I still feel the need of writing. This curved road like life we live in can lead us to hope; our hope in God our Christ in everlasting life!

This blog will give you articles from time to time that can include strong opinions. So please, feel free to commend or discuss your point of view. For together we grow and get stronger in the Lord! Many people believe you need a lot of schooling, I believe schooling is good and will get us wiser. Though it shouldn’t be said or thought that without it you can’t say or write something meaningful. My advise; follow your heart, you’ll know very well for yourself if it’s out of good intention or not… There are times and day’s I feel like God is pressing me to write; write out my heart, my feelings. I struggle a lot with how things go these day’s compared to what the Bible teaches us. I struggle in the way that this world is so lost, I wonder how it still turns. And it’s in these times we made a promise to God to keep our vows in marriage and in the baptism of our children. The promises to train the faith, to study, to maintain, to support, to endure and to keep the faith! Each of these will lead us on curved roads and curve us they way we are and become. Our life’s are filled with choices to be made; in which road to turn into. May you also choose the narrow road; that leads to faith and most of all hope. Hope will help you along the way, no matter how narrow the road will get!

‘Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.’ (Rom.5: 1-5)
