Defects

You bought something new and when you take it out of the box it’s broken or incomplete. You can go back to the store to return it for another one. A warranty is what you got for it. It’s also like that for us Christians. We come with warranty which comes through Jesus. When He suffered on the cross and overcame death, He gave us the opportunity to believe, which comes with a guaranteed warranty for life.

We get born with defects, our spine might not be straight or your finger might be missing, genetics through generations could end up in having cancer or heart defects. But the biggest one is sin. We all get born with it. These defects we can bring before Christ to redeem forgiveness and grace. When you brake a glass it’s shattered in pieces, no way of putting it back together. So it is with our lives, shattered in pieces, but Christ is able to fix it crystal clear again. Our Warranty is waiting for us, so let us do our best to shop up crystal clear!

Opposition

Disagreements, diversity, anger, arguments and wars. This world is full of it. And no, we are not created the same and we’ll never be all on the same line.  But a lot of these things have one thing in common; envy and unrighteousness. We want something we don’t have. But God tells us in His 10th commandment that we shall not want, that, that not belongs to us. Unrighteousness is a big statement, a lot of times this comes down to common sense. But if you’re not brought up in a normal, save environment, this will be missed. I’ve seen some of, for instance our past employees, missing common sense. You want to help them, but it only brings you in more trouble. Not seeing what needs to be done or not wanting to see it, are 2 different things, but come down to the same results. How then can you bring up the following verse from James 3:18; ‘Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.’ We, for example, give multiple chances for change and start doing right. So it’s nice to see better results. Though we’ve also bin seeing a lot of younger kids who just don’t care. You’ve trained them and they’ll leave colt turkey, leaving you with the work that you can’t do all by yourself and then need to find someone new right away. What I am trying to get to is the following, with this kind of mentality coming more and more, the problems of this world will become bigger.

Now Jesus tells us: ‘ Peace I will leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27) So let us not be troubled by this, because He is still overall. Sometimes I am afraid, that our children grow up in this rapid technology changing world. It brings the moral responsibility down and the basic way of living forgotten. But He tells us not to be afraid, He knows what’s coming and He’ll protect us and our children against opposition. Maybe not always in this world, but it will be so in Heaven!

The first Bite,

When you have a new situation, the unknown pulls you to find out if it’s good or bad. First thing to do is actually try it out… But that in itself could already be sinful. By nature we want to know the unknown, we think we need to know and sometimes it is good, but most of the times we have that funny fore feeling that isn’t right. Why do we still do it then? It’s this war inside us of good and bad, it’s a trigger that is favorable for Satan, he loves to see us suffer, short or long-term. He’ll do anything to keep you far from right. So why is it that we still follow up in these things over and over again?! It makes us small and vulnerable and so in need of God. But that daily need points us to these new, and yes, old situations. When Eve took the first bite, she knew from God telling her what the consequences would be. Consequences, we have to deal with them, but how? Doesn’t it keep reminding us of the sin committed? Shouldn’t it just fade away over time? No, it won’t, simple as that. Though God gives us hope in a new life, isn’t that wonderful, because it’s still unknown to us?!

When Jesus had His last supper, He broke the bread and said; take, eat, this is my body which is given to you. The first bite, in remembrance, the first bite, a sign of knowing what is! At least for us, because the disciples didn’t know it would have bin Jesus last supper. But He knew and gave them that first bite, knowing how much they would be needing Him. So, also for us; when you take your first ‘bite’, remember what Jesus said, because He died for our sin, even for us trying things out. He is also there and He knows, He didn’t die for nothing… That doesn’t mean you can just keep doing what you’ve always done… Remember Him and ask for forgiveness. God’s grace will come upon you and His comfort will give you hope for what is still to come!
